Wildlife on Wheels is rolling to the Library! Meet a selection of live animal ambassadors with educators from the Forest Park Zoo. Learn how the animals live, including their special adaptations, habitats, behaviors, diets, and status in the wild. Animal ambassadors may include: small mammals, various small lizards, amphibians, snakes, turtles and tortoises, anthropods, and/or birds.

Tarot offers a mirror to the soul. The cards depict our emotional and spiritual landscape and provide insight into our innermost selves. The cards validate our intuitive sense of knowing and open us up to greater awareness. By looking inward with a fresh perspective, we grow deeper in understanding of our lives, and gain confidence in walking the path of our destiny.  Join tarot teacher, Laura Campagna, for a fun workshop to learn how to read tarot. No experience necessary. Participants will connect with their intuition and gain confidence in reading for themselves or friends.

If you were a seed, how would you travel? Carried by the wind? Floating in the water? On the back of a furry bear? Join a Hitchcock Center educator as we read about the sneaky ways many seeds hitch a ride to far-off places. Then engineer your own seed pod out of common materials and put it to the test: How far does it fly through the air? Then we'll visit with a live creature who carries seeds long distances in its belly, and plants them in new locations! Best for kids ages 5-10 with an adult.

Make and take home your own natural fairy house! Mary Jo Maichack leads the fun and brings the basic supplies. Please bring more woodland or other fairy supplies to use, glue guns, if you wish! Paper plate bases supplied—bring your own container if you prefer.

Come, enjoy a fun time playing with sticks, pinecones, moss, bark and more. Meet other friends of fairies.

“Up an airy mountain, down a rushy glen, we can’t go a hunting, for fear of little men...” Nothing to fear here, in this charming program—listen to a wee bit of fairy lore. Make your very own house or furniture for fairies. Show off your fairy abode and take it home.
