Curious about learning how to play? Know how it works but looking for other players? Hoping to trade cards, or get help building a deck?
All are welcome! 

Bring your own cards to use if you have them, or if you don't have any - that's ok - Forbes will provide pre-made decks to use at the library. And we also have free cards to take and use for your own deck building or collecting!

This program is for ages 10+ and meets weekly, Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00 pm in the Community Room (tables are generally set up by 3:30 for folks eager to get games going!)

This beginner-friendly meetup covers basic patterns, hand-eye coordination techniques, and fun skill-building exercises. The space also welcomes more advanced jugglers, offering opportunities to explore new tricks, share techniques, and connect with others.

Everyone is encouraged to be both a teacher and a student—this is a space to build community through play, learning, and collaboration. Led by juggling instructor Joseph Goldin.

These meetups will start June 10 and run through August 26.

Join us for Toddler Storytime every Friday morning! We will sing songs, read stories, and have fun. This event is best suited for 1.5-3-year-olds and their caregivers. 

Every Friday, kids ages 7-12 can hang out with other young gamers and play the library's Nintendo Switch! We generally play Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, Super Mario: Wonder, and Mario Party.

Hang out in the Youth Programming Room with other babies and caregivers! We'll have baby-friendly toys out on the rug and plenty of space to play. Ideal for children 0-18 months. 

We've got bricks, baseplates and minifigs--now all we need is you! Join us for LEGO Club Mondays at 3:30 in the Forbes Library Community Room. Pick a design challenge out of the bowl or simply build a creation of your own choosing. This program is great for ages 4+.

Join us for stories, songs, and puppets! We'll do a 20-minute storytime together, then we'll put out toys for free play and social time until 11:00. For babies under 18 months and their caregivers.

Join us to do a craft based on Sky & Ty: Howdy Partner! by Steve Breen! We will meet in the Youth Programming Room. Books are available in the children's department to check out. Please email jcornick@forbeslibrary.org with any questions.

The Grumpytime Club Band is a red and gold family music party band including teen musicians and costumed dancers. Playing original music from their award-winning album, “The Grumpytime Club” plus a handful of surprising covers, they rock fairs, festivals, and libraries with their high-energy funky folk-pop. Featuring a shifting pallet of horns, violin, guitar, mandolin, keys, bass and drums, their music is highly danceable and truly fun for all ages, highlighting themes of inclusivity, social justice, Earth stewardship and LGBTQIA+ youth/family JOY.

Come learn about birds of prey from local legend wildlife rehabilitator and wildlife biologist Tom Ricardi, Founder of Massachusetts Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Facility featuring various birds of prey at Forbes Library.

Today we'll be using acrylic paint markers to decorate wooden beads and create our very own unique beaded jewelry! Great for ages 4+ and their parents and caregivers.

Using giant bubble wands he designed and constructed himself, Mr. Vinny the Bubble Guy will gather kids for an hour-long game of watch, chase, and pop the bubbles! Big, giant, beautiful bubbles will fill the air above and all around us while Mr. Vinny makes jokes, answers questions, and creates good-hearted and surprising fun.

Audiences will see wonderful slides of our local butterflies presented by Jerry Schneider, creator of the award-winning Butterfly Game. Audiences will answer questions such as: What is good butterfly habitat? How can we attract more butterflies into our community? When, how, and why do Monarch butterflies go to Mexico? In addition to answering these questions, we will learn interesting butterfly characteristics (did you know that butterflies taste with their feet?). Jerry brings displays of butterflies and moths, cocoons, and sometimes caterpillars. The
second half of the program is a wonderful tee shirt craft! Heavy cotton Gildan tee shirts are $5.00, or kids may bring their own.
