Location: Community Room
Categories: Adult Events, Arts and Crafts, One-Time Events, Teen Events
Registration: Registration is required for this event.

The author will talk about the book's creation and the cyanotype's historical origins, followed by a live demonstration of the cyanotype process itself. Participants will then make a bookmark of their own.

Cyanotype printing is a simple photographic process that uses the sun’s rays to create a chemical reaction, allowing you to easily capture stunning prints, using everything from ferns and feathers to lace and leaves. This accessible art form is the perfect way to blend time in nature with creativity. A few inexpensive supplies and a sunny day are all you need to start creating. Madge Evers has been teaching the cyanotype technique for years, while also developing her own thriving creative practice, making her the perfect guide and teacher.

About the author: Madge Evers is a mixed-media artist whose practice is rooted in sustained attention to plant life and its slower, less visible processes. Working with alternative photographic techniques, mushroom spores, and painting, she engages both observed landscape details and imagined botanical forms. Her work has been exhibited throughout New England, and she has participated in residencies in Massachusetts, Virginia, Ireland, and New York. She is the author of Printing With the Sun, a book about the cyanotype process, published by Storey. Evers lives and works in western Massachusetts.

Books will be available to purchase onsite from Broadside Bookshop. Madge will sign books for participants who wish to purchase a copy.

By looking inward with a fresh perspective, we grow deeper in understanding of our lives, and gain confidence in walking the path of our destiny.  Join tarot teacher, Laura Campagna, for a fun workshop to learn how to read tarot.
